I have a 1987 Camaro when stock had the carbed 305 with auto 700R4 trans. I got a deal on a 350 with approx 310 rwhp and 700R4 trans that I could not pass up. The ? I have is, What gears does a shift kit effect the shifting in, what difference does a vette servo make over the stock servo, the trans also has a 2500 stahl converter in it.The trans seems to really shift hard into second gear and than a little firmer into the rest. By hard I mean it wants to break the tire's loose at part throttle. What does the T.V. cable control and what is the best way to adjust it. I installed a Hurst Dual Gate shifter that is made for our cars, I also upgraded to a 9 bolt rear with 3:70 gears. Does this sound normal for this set up? Any comments would be appreciated. I have learned so much from you guys.
THANKS

Usually all because it increases the pressure so all shifts are faster and firmer. How hard will depend on the kit usedOriginally Posted by rkg8554

Another ? I have is, this motor was a TBI and I switched it to carb. My original motor was a 305 carbed with the 700R4, I noticed a difference in length of the TV cables, the TBI cable was longer, so I put my original carbed TV cable on the 350 & trans combo, was this a mistake?
I want to thank you both far all the Great information. What a difference a properly adjusted TV cable makes. I had to adjust it a few time's, each time I adjusted it I would mark it and then go for a test drive, after about the 3rd time everything was much better. I think I will get a pressure guage and and use this as a secondary check.
Again, Thank You
Again, Thank You
