What stall converter?

Hey I have 1988 iroc l98 literally bone stock. I want to do exhaust tune pulleys and a converter. But I'm not sure what stall to get, what would give me the best performance for the car?

Re: What stall converter?

Best stall for best performance means you want a converter that stalls around 500 rpm into the powerband of the camshaft for street only and about 1000 rpm into the powerband for street/strip use.

With a stock camshaft, anything under 2800 stall speed will work fine.

Yank converters will give you your best mph/times at the track.

I would suggest a Yank 2500

Re: What stall converter?

i have been eyeing the summit 2600 stall, 30 spline 12 inch converter, lockup. Nothing crazy anti ballooning or anything like that but plenty for my plans with the car.
