My tranny messed up!!!

I started my truck yesterday, drove not even a quarter mile and it made a loud boom. I instantly stopped to check the problem and didn't see anything wrong. When I got back in I couldn't get it to pass first gear... It's not slipping nor has never slipped or gave me any problems... Someone told me to check the governor, but it does not looked damaged at all or so I think... When I took the cap off it pulled right out without any hesitation... is this suppose to happen like that or could it be the problem. If not what else should I check before taking it all the way down and replacing the whole thing?

I would probably joining a forum specific to your vehicle and give information about your truck in you post.

Well- I emptied out about a pint of Tranny fluid and added SEAFOAM--- it seemed to do the trick..... Drove her for 15 minutes up to 40 mph- no problem so far. Try it-- it may work.
