TH400 Kickdown

Can someone explain how this particular kickdown works?

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/lo...00ht/overview/

It goes from the throttle cable to that little box, but it doesn't look like the box hooks to the tranny anywhere.

Or can someone reccomend a TH400 kickdown for me?

Re: TH400 Kickdown

It's nothing more than a fancy looking cable operated remote switch. the wires come out of the machined aluminum box, the box bolts to the tranny pan rail and the wire to the kickdown connector and a ground.

Re: TH400 Kickdown

Thanks guys. I knew I needed an electrical kickdown, I was confused because the box didn't look like it had any electrical connections though.

Twin_Turbo is that your car? If it is, how did this setup work for you? Could you show some pics of the throttle linkage?

No, I just googled the image. I wouldn't be caught dead with anything pink on my car

There are plenty of cheap DIY options , all you need is a micro switch on the throttle or pedal linkage ( hidden under the dash if you are worried about appearances ) that closes when you go WOT
