my SGI-5A is being a big PITA!

So I finally got some time and figured I would finalize some wiring and get this speedometer calibrated.

It was a little low so I decided to up the calibration to get the speedometer corrected. No dice. I followed the directions and either the speedometer would get a little slower or ALOT slower. I just need to speed it up.

I went 5 MPH low at 60 to practically nothing. This is making me think theres an issue with the way it's hooked up. I'm using OUT3, not having interference problems, with one leg of the speedo grounded and the other to SIG IN before the buffer box.

Any input?

I am running the sg1 5c. Only thing I had to play with was the switch settings. Wonder what the difference is from the a to the c models

I think the c uses the dip switches to get you close then you up or down it to the right speed. The A model has nothing but a bunch of dip switches.

To update, I finally got it calibrated OK after experimenting with it for what seemed like forever. Problem now is, I have interference at idle, so I have to order a noise suppressor inline with the power in to the box...

I used to have the A model with all the dip switches, now I went to the new C model but I hooked it up different. I decided to remove the yellow buffer all together and use all the wires for the SGI-5C, works great and no more bouncing needle I used to get the odd time. Plus when you remove the buffer box all your wires are right there for power/ground and the hook ups.

Reviving an old thread but do you remember the wiring configuration? Also, I didn't think a GTA would have the buffer being TPI? Regardless, this is exactly what I'm doing with the C model but can't get it to calibrate...
