4L80E questions/issues
First off, can I stick a late model (drain plug equipped) pan on an early 4L80E? I had a plug kit on my 700R4 and it flat out sucked. I want something that's not going to leak. If I have to I'll MIG something into the pan, but would rather it be factory.
Second off, I had some linkage issues and dropped it into reverse at about 20-30 mph. I seem to have lost reverse at this point, not exactly sure what's wrong but I've been told it's possible that the rev/1st apply pin got bent. I've been told I can extend the pin length about 2mm and it might fix the problem. Anyone done this successfully? If I have to I'll just JY another box but figure I'd ask.
Lastly, is there any difference between the linkages on say a 91 4L80E with the built in bell and the detachable bellhousings. I'm running a rod based linkage so it does matter for me.
