mystery lockup

just bought a 86 z28 that the previous owner bought converted from tbi.know one knows what was done in the trans except that it was rebuilt. Imworried that the lock up isent working but I'm not a trans guy.i took it to my buddy that rebuilds them for a living and we put it on his lift and noticed that the lockup plug is gone and don't even exist it is no where in the harness.the tbi harness and computer gone.
. He claims that it could have been locked up manually in side the trans.can this be done.this car has been driven for years this way without problems I would like to know what's going on
the car shifts fine and down shifts fine

Re: mystery lockup

RPMs seem right for cruising speed, for what that's worth. But I don't think lockup affects that to a great deal.

Have you considered having your buddy pull the transmission and find out for you?

Re: mystery lockup

in my little trans experience it does sem right I just can't wrap my head around how I have never heard of it being done completely inside the trans .when he drove it and we had it on the lift he swears the lock up is working.i don't see how without power or brake signal. The car don't stall when driving so if it is working where does it get its signal to engage and disengage
