The other day when I was under the dash changing my steering column I could see light from the engine bay shining though to to the enterior. not just a little, but a LOT. Turns out my speedometer grommet is missing (that's the one to the left of where the clutch master cylinder passes through, correct?)

that could explain why it's always seemed a little noisy in the interior cabinet, I've got a 1 1/2 inch hole in my firewall... For now I've shoved some Dumdum putty in there, but I'd like to get the real part if possible. No mention of it in the parts and illustration guide, so I'm hoping one of you will have some ideas

I'll keep using putty before I mess with wrestling a old hardened rubber grommet out a car, and then back into another one.

That's why I asked for parts number. It's going to be new or forget it

 

Mine is OEM, replaced the Speedo cable last year, came out and went in fine. Seems you need a change of attitude before this is going to get fixed.

 

I try to put new parts on when possible. If you don't have anything constructive to add to this discussion, Please move on
