Detailed T56 swap
Well my 700 is down to two gears so I figured now would be a good time to do a transmission swap (on a side note I had just changed the tranny fluid before it went out). I've decided on installing a T56 even though everyone says it will pair poorly with the stock 305 tpi that I have. I don't really care because I need to put in a new transmission and I want a manual. Anyways because the car is my DD I plan on doing the pedal swap first then having everything ready to go so I can install the transmission in a weekend or so. I've never done anything with transmissions before so this would probably be a good thread for a beginner such as myself to learn from all of my mistakes. Also I am going to post every single thing that I have to buy for the swap to get an accurate cost.
Well here is what I have ordered so far and plan on installing on the weekend. I wanted to do this with the least amount of hassle possible so I am ordering a lot of new parts instead of trolling junk yards.
4th gen pedals
- ebay $150
pre-bled master slave assembly
-gmpartsdirect # 12559912 $130
clutch pedal retainer
-gmpartsdirect # 3817880 $1.50
clutch pedal bushing
-gmpartsdirect # 14091384 $5.54
firewall u bolt
-gmpartsdirect # 14076942 $2.93
Here goes nothing

Re: Detailed T56 swap
Thanks, even though I feel like I've spent a solid month researching I will probably still need some help.
