My 383 blew third gear on my 700R4. Im looking to do a performance build on my auto trans or maybe do a manual swap since I have always wanted manual. I want to take the car to track and this car is mostly my weekend cruiser. Any suggestions on the build I should do? Car has a 2800 stall right now.

Whats so special on that trans? I dont know that one

4L60E requires a shift computer that costs around a grand or so. It would be better to rebuild what you have. The valvebody and governor could be different on the Z28 and IROC vs. other V8 model Camaros.

It would be cheaper to rebuild the 700r4 in the car now, than to convert to a 4L60E.
