Hi guys,

I have an 87 GTA. I recently got a hold of some new rear componants (Eaton posi dif, moser axles, ring and pinion, ect.). My new dif and axles are set up for c clips. My car dosnt have clips, so there is a flange on the end of the housing to fit a bearing that is pressed to the axles. I dont know what to do, am I able to just press new bearing on to the axles and not put c clips in there? or will that mess something up?

You bought parts for the wrong rear end. You bought parts for a 7.5 10 bolt and your car has the Borg Warner 9 bolt. You will have to get a 10 bolt or return the parts. The 10 bolt parts will not work n the 9 bolt rear end.

 

Oh ok, I got them from a friend so it's no big deal, will that ring and pinion match up though?

 

Nope. Nothing from the 10 bolt interchanges with the 9 bolt.

 

Not if its for the 10 bolt. Nor will any of the parts if they were for the 10 bolt.
