Transmission: 700R4
Axle/Gears: 3.23
700R4 won't shift out of 1st?

I just had my 700r4 rebuilt and I put it pack in my car and it won't shift out of 1st. Park, Reverse, and Neutral all work fine but it just won't upshift. First gear pulls fine. We've tried unhooking the TV cable to see if it would shift at all, but it still wouldn't shift out of first. Does anyone know what this could be? If so, any steps on how to fix it?

Exactly this. When the teeth on the governor fail it will prevent the transmission from shifting into any gear other than 1st. I had the same issue with mine when I swapped a new one in.
