My stock TPI '86 IROC-Z will not upshift at WOT. It shifts fine at part throttle and normal driving. I have not tried the governor adjustment spring weight kit yet. The TV cable has been adjusted to the correct spec. I did replace the governor with one from a stock '89 IROC but it only changed the part throttle shift points slightly. The upshift delay is so bad, that I believe the engine would fail before it would shift.

I have read a lot of info about adjusting the shift points with the governor weights and springs. But it would be helpful to have it upshift first.

WOW, I just realized that in a couple of months I will have been a member for 15 years!

 

Back when i owned an evo 5 lockout on upshifts would occur if the clutch pedal wasnt adjusted properly it wouldnt completely disengage and that would cause the lockout. Adjusted the clutch and then it was fine.

 

My 700R4 shifts correctly at all normal driving. But will not upshift at WOT.

Has nothing to do with a clutch, this is an auto trans.

 

My transmission will not upshift 1-2 2-3 or 3-4.
