Re: 4th gen driveshaft
Auto & stick drive shafts are the same, and all fit all of these cars. (except for the very early ones w T200C or 4-speed)
Just make sure it's not one of those with the cardboard box material stuffed inside to pretend to be damping material.

Re: 4th gen driveshaft
Several years ago I installed a 4th gen aluminum driveshaft in my 1986 IROC-Z when I I installed a disc brake rear. But it appeared to be about an inch too long. I had to unbolt one of the lower control arms and pry the rear back to install it. The driveshaft is currently removed while I am replacing the fuel tank. My question is; what length should the driveshaft be, and how do I measure it?

Re: 4th gen driveshaft
I measured my 4th gen aluminum driveshaft and it is 7/16" longer than a stock 3rd gen steel driveshaft. The difficulty in installation seems to be due to the larger "boss area" of the u-joint end of the driveshaft. I will try to get it shortened and post the results.
Thanks, Andy
