305 to 350.....Which kickdown cable
I have in '85 Trans Am, originally had the 305TPI, swapped in a 350. Still has the '85 700R4. I need to replace the kickdown, detent or whatever you want to call it cable. My question is this: should I replace it with a cable for an '85 305 or move up to an '88/89 350TPI cable. Both are available but I would prefer not to have to order both. Thanks in advance

Re: 305 to 350.....Which kickdown cable
The cable matches the intake / throttle body. 305 and 350 are externally the same; their internal and minor casting differences are not relevant to the TV cable.
If you have an 85-88 TPI throttle body, you keep what you had (or replace with identical new.)
If you changed to 89-92 TPI throttle body, you replace with the 89-92 F/Y TPI cable.
If you changed to a different TB / intake manifold setup, you have to match accordingly.
