t56 height?
Hey guys, I'm making a custome crossmember for my t56.
Could anyone give me a measurement with reference as to how high the t56 is suppose to sit?
Like from the hole in the tunnel to the top of the tranny?

Re: t56 height?
I should have been smarter and measured before tearing it out, but I already have the t56 in, I just need a reference point to measure if anyone is willing to help me out :/

Re: t56 height?
help yourself out.
bolt the crossmember to the 700
measure to it.
bolt it to the car.
use whatever inane floorpan measuring point you've decided is your zero point.
and match the T5 or 700-R4 output shaft height.

check ur pinion and output shaft angle ... should be 3 degres at trans and 1 degree at pinion...that will tell u how high it needs to be...as u move the trans with torque arm attached and driveshaft on place bouth angles will change...I used aftermarket cross member and still had to shim trans mount

Re: t56 height?
You need to go to harbor freith and by angle meter if u don't have one ...turn driveshaft so the yokes are strait and measure the angle(angle meter has magnet side so u just stik it to the flat of the u joint ) I believe u haven't done it that's why I m explaining ...at the pinion u can use the flat bottom were torque arm mounts ...but on the trans u don't really have flat so measure at the yoke
