K1500 Posi 3.42 Rear End Compatibility

So I have the opportunity to purchase a new rear end for $250 (axle diff. and sway bar). It's for a 94 Suburban. Any sort of compatibility at all for an 85 camaro?

I know it's bigger and If it could fit it's probably more work than its work, so I'm mostly just curious.

I think you answered your question. It would take a lot of work it get it to work in your car. The limited slip differential that was used in the truck rear ends is the Governor Lock, so it wouldn't be worth it anyway.

Besides the axle is 6 lug and has no torque arm provision so without very good welding and fan skills its no where close to working

Re: K1500 Posi 3.42 Rear End Compatibility

save that $250 and wait for a rebuilt 10bolt from one of these cars to bolt in.

alot of fab works for mounts such as, spring perches, lower control arms, tq arm, shortening of axle tubes, custom axles etc... not worth it

Re: K1500 Posi 3.42 Rear End Compatibility

i bought a complete, rotor to rotor rear axle out of an 02 Z28 with the locking differential and 3.42 gears for $300, and it took about an hour to bolt in with zero fabrication..
