10 bolt to 9" swap over.I have questions
I just received my new custom fit 9" rear end for my 92 Camaro. I would like to swap out the 10 bolt for the 9" myself, but I've never done it before, so if any of you guys can help me, I would really appreciate it. First off, do I need any special tools ( spring compressors etc.), and what kind of torque requirements are there. The new rear end has disc brakes on it, so I'll need any info on the drum to disc swap. Thanks in advance.
i have just done this swap .... well still doing this swap actully ..... as far as the rearend goes it is a direct bolt in .... i didn't have any probs with mine ..... thing is with mine is my driveshaft doesn't bolt up ....its about a inch to short .... but i also have a th350 ..... does anyone know the length if a stock 3red gen drive shaft out of a 700r4 car? or ven a 4th gen car ? .....

Third gen driveshafts come in 2 sizes. Long and short. They're 3" different in length. If yours is 1" too short then you'll need to have a new driveshaft made or get a longer one shortened.
A good floor type jack and jack stands are about the only special tools you'll need. An impact gun will help and depending on how seized the panhard bar bolts, shocks and LCA bolts are, you may need some torches to heat them up first.
