T5 swap mechanical speedometer trans, electronic speedo
Okay, I've been doing some reading on this subject and I've learned quite a bit (my lack of knowledge killed my first Camaro, wrong VSS in the trans and I didn't know that was the problem until 5 years too late lol) but there is one thing I'm not understanding.
Okay, I would need an electronic VSS for a TBI car which is discontinued. To open up some options, would swapping in a 145mph speedo allow use of a V6 or TPI VSS? Could I use a VSS out of an S10 w/ T5? What other options do I have for this without swapping to an 82-89 cluster?

If you have a cable driven WC T5 there is a converter you can buy that will work. It costs about 90 bucks. Your speedo will be out of wack because the drive and driven gears in the trans probably don't match you rear ratio. You can also buy and electronic ratio adaptor to fix that problem. I'v installed one and it works perfectly. Costs about 160.00 dollars.

http://www.abbott-tach.com/era.htm this is the link for the electronic speedo ratio adapter. I have the cable driven adapter ( converts cable to electronic signal) that I didn't use ( I got hold of a VSS) if you like and you can have it for 90,00 shipped.
