LT1/T56 swap-Thirdgen Pedals- Hydraulics

Hey all,

I have been searching and i really cant seem to find a conclusive answer. I know most of the options when it comes to the t56 hydraulics. I took the route of cutting a 4th gen master down and putting a turnbuckle on it with my stock t5 pedals. So far it has been working ok. But I bought the hydros used and they are about toast, so i am looking for replacements.

I want to keep the thirdgen pedals, and i really dont want to take them out to move the pivot point so what are my options?

Has anyone used the 7/8" adjustable tilton (Tick or hawks) on the LT1 T56? If so what slave are you using and would you recommend that set up?

Another stock GM 4thgen pre-bled unit? Cut the MC down and turnbuckle it again?

Has anyone found the differences between the 93-95 and 96-97 LT1-T56 hyrdos?

What else do you guys recommend?

Thanks!

Re: LT1/T56 swap-Thirdgen Pedals- Hydraulics

7/8" is likely to be overkill (fluid volume) which is not going to help with a pull clutch.
The Valeo pull clutch is kind of sensitive to too-little or too-much clutch release; I'd try and stick with stock volume when possible.
Tick can probably put a smaller bore master in their master cylinder for you; it's been done with a 13/16" before.
I feel Tick deserves the business on the part as it's their design and not a knockoff.

Your turnbuckle pushrod can probably be swapped to a new master cylinder if you go that route.

If there was a different in design back between 95 and 96, it's not worth considering at this point; any new part is going to fit all 93-97 models.

Thanks! That's about what I am thinking. I know the pull style clutch has a small window it's happy in, and for the same reason you pointed out, I don't know how much adding more fluid is going to help. I'd end up with an even shorter throw.

Basically you confirmed most of my thoughts, I guess I'm just trying to understand why the Tick is popular for the lt1 crowd. Lsx's, I get it, but the numbers just don't add up for the ltx's.
