3rd Gen. rear-end

My friend has a 92 25th anniv. RS w/ 305 TBI & 700R4...He was wondering what type of axle/differencial he has.... Pretty sure itz an open rear-end cuz when he does burnouts only the right wheel spins.

Yup, it's a "one wheel peel" unit... it should be a 7½" 10-bolt with drum brakes, 2.73 ratio.

my friend has the same car. it has the GU2 code which is the 2.73 gear. look in the storage compartment in the left rear of the car. see if you have this code.

Thats different than what I've been told then...a guy told me GU4 was 2.73s but if GU2 is 2.73s then GU4 cudn't be 2.73s.... i wuz a bit spekticul because I thought a truck having 2.73s was a bit odd.

RPO decode on this site, GU4 is a 3:08 ratio. Check the Home
Page for RPO codes. Also should be a 10-bolt.
