Th400 spedo hook up
Ok have not had a spedo in a few years so now is the time to fix it.
Th400 trans
Stock ecu is gone. Stock buffer box is gone.
I know i nee a vss at the trans but where do u hook up at the cluster? Can this be done?

The speedometer requires a 4K PPM digital signal. What I would do is to get a 4K PPM magnetic VSS, wire it into a Dakota SGI-5 box, then on to the speedometer. The SGI box will buffer and freq change the VSS. This way it is also adjustable for different rear gears and tire diameters.

The SGI-5 documentation will show how & where to wire the VSS to it. And which terminal to use for the speedometer signal.
The '89 Firebird service manual will show you which wire runs to the speedometer. Can mount the SGI-5 box where the 4-out buffer box used to be. If the original wiring hasn't been hacked up it will be an easy install.
