which trans?

hey , what are people running here behind modified 350's and 383's ? i 'm pretty sure even the WC t-5's wont handle that abuse , or will they? also as i'm sure most replys wont be anything stock, how were things modded? and if the trans's are stock, what works and what dosent? i'm thinking of tossing my 700r4 because i'd rather have a stick . i prefer a 5 over a 6 speed but price is a main concern (rebuilt WC t-5 $500, rebuilt 700r4 $1600). thanks

The T-5 won't handle much more power than a Bissell Vac.

I think the regular T-5 can handle a max of 310-320 ft/lbs of torque. Nice that Ford put these in the Mustangs that made 310-320 ft/lbs.
