350 flywheel/clutch issues
Hey guys, I'm putting a 350 in my Trans Am from an 85' K10. I don't have the clutch for the T5 that I'm putting in or the flywheel for the motor. I just ordered the flywheel, which is a 168 tooth one. My question is will the T5 clutch that normally goes to the 153 tooth flywheel bolt up? All of the clutches listed for the K10 were 10 spline, not 26, so I ordered a clutch that would interface with the 153 tooth flywheel and I'm going to try to match them up.

Re: 350 flywheel/clutch issues
Cancel the 168 tooth flywheel order and buy one for an 85 Trans Am.
It will be 153 tooth, fit the third gen bellhousing, and work with the third gen starter.

Just like jmd said get the 153 tooth flywheel, because you will have a hard time trying to find a starter that will fit and work.
I dropped a vortec 350 out of a '98 tahoe into my '87 iroc and just went with the high performance setup from RockAuto.

Re: 350 flywheel/clutch issues
Thanks guys! I ended up going with the 153 tooth flywheel and the matching clutch kit. I just need to wait for the new starter to come in (I guess I can put the staggered one back in my Uncle's shed now).
