Trans experts, wtf is going on here....

I am parting an 85 Trans Am and ran across this (pictures below). Looks like a th350 was swapped in. There is one bolt in the crossmember on each side. There are 13 bolts in the pan which is why I believe it is a th350. But the tail housing has me confused. It looks like it does have the provision for the torque arm, though it also has some ******* setup on the side using an aftermarket clamp as well. Any ideas what is going on here? The whole car was one giant rigged up disaster after another. Ignition, wiring, you name it, if the prior owner touched it, it was cobbled.

Use the transmission pan pattern to approximately identify the transmission.

The crossmember is bolted in upside down. LOL The fubar'd torque arm mount is a nice touch too.

The TH350 has a vacuum modulator on the back of the transmission on the passenger side.

It's a th350 for sure. Has the modulator. I know my transmissions, I am wondering about the tail shaft. Could they have bolted one on from a 700r4? Is that possible? That is my real question.

Yes, we did that years ago. You used the mid (medium) length TH350 output shaft.
