T5 lower shifter boot
Any tips/trick for removing the boot without yanking the console?

I can't imagine it coming out easily without pulling the console. It just wraps too far over the sides to be practical. If memory serves, the carpet overlaps the boot a lil too.
No big deal though, the Camaro console comes out easily enough. Two bolts in the glovebox, one under the shifter plate, and two on either side of the radio where it meets the dash hull. Of course the shifter, shift plate, radio trim, radio, upper console, etc have to come off first. Usually the HVAC controls can be fished out of the console without disconnecting all the wires and vacuum lines. Might be able to get the boot out without removing the lower half of the console, but it's been a decade since I've had that part of a Camaro apart.

Yup, the screws are behind the sides of the console where they hug the tunnel.
It only takes like 5 minutes or so to R&R the console, not really worth even trying to avoid that.
