Re: Speedometer gears

No.

The T5 in GM applications used a larger dia. drive gear, and smaller diameter driven gear than the small Chevy TH350 gears.

Also, these two sets used different ranges. Driven in the T5 went up to 22 in OEM applications. Driven in the Chevy TH350 went to 24 or 25.

In short, you can't use a 7t drive gear in your T5 and install a 21 tooth for a TH350, for example. They won't mesh at a correct depth and will not fit.

Re: Speedometer gears

My response is based on the above link which claims the TH350 driven gears (17-22) will fit both the Super T-10 and Chevy T-5. Am I missing something, jmd?

Re: Speedometer gears

The driven gear sleeve is the same service part.

In theory, you can use a TH350 drive gear and TH350 driven gear together on a GM T5.
And you should be able to use a T5 drive and driven set on a Chevy tailhousing TH350.

I hesitate to proclaim it loudly, as I have done it once, and never saw it work in that (high mileage) vehicle.

Re: Speedometer gears

Yes they do take the same driven gear. I have been supplying turbo 350 driven gears with my T5 and T56 cable drive tail housing mods since 2008.

You must use the 350 driven gear with the housing (bullet) from a Turbo 350.

The T5 and Turbo 350 housings are different lengths.
