4th gen pedals in 3rd gen swap issues
New to Forum, I have a 1983 Firebird, factory T5 V6 car that had mechanical clutch set up, Car was a Roller.. I swapped in mild L69 305 engine, and V8 , Hanlon rebuilt V8 T5, 87 model bellhousing, flywheel, Phoenix Friction stage 2 clutch, Converted to Hydraulic clutch setup by using Hawk's Repo 4th gen pedals and Hawks Adjustable Clutch master cylinder, heavy duty slave unit. It was a bear to get in but it is in. Problem; I have not been able to get a satisfactory pedal out of the clutch. It grabs right off the floor, If you don't push it through the floor it does not disengage. Several calls and emails to Hawks have gone unanswered. It seems like a geometry issue but I just don't know enough to solve it. Would moving the mounting point lower on the clutch pedal lever, (decreasing the seemingly severe up ward angle) help? Do I need to lengthen or shorten the rod? The clutch pedal is off too far to the left and would bending the lever help and/or hurt? Any suggestions or anybody that has worked through this with advise would be much appreciated.
