T5 or alternative
I have a 1992 RS 305, 5spd (T5), that I am rebuilding from a scrap car for my grandson to learn to drive a manual transmission. I don't want him to learn on my 1979 TA. Got the car running and found that the 2nd gear syncro was bad. Removed it and took it to a local transmission shop and found almost everything inside needs replacement ($1800). Any ideas on where to get a T5 reasonable? Please keep in mind "scrap" car, teenager, and reasonable.

Local pick a part?
Has to be from an 82-92 f body. Nothing else will work right. V8 cars, the v6 one will need adaptatiin to work.
