Need help choosing a drag radial size for my m6 5.3
So I'm looking into getting a set of 15x10's for my 5.3 m6. With the lsa blower it put down 530 rwhp. I have an S60 rear waiting to go in, with 3.73's and an s-trac. I've pretty much decided on a 275/xx/15 tire size, I'm just not sure if I would benefit from a 26 or 28 inch tire. I ordered my rear with 4th gen width, and Im probably gonna get a set of racestars with 7.25 backspacing to make sure I have enough room for the wider rim. Right now I have 18x9.5 c5's as my street setup, and they cut it close inside the wheel well. So as of right now the 10 bolt has 4.10's in it, and my last pass at the track netted me an 11.49@126.5 with a 2.01 60ft. Now the gearing was awful and I had to shift into 5th gear a few seconds before the trap, but now with the 3.73's I should be at the top of 4th.
I was leaning towards the 26 inch tire being I'm going back to 3.73's. Im not sure if I would benefit more from a 28 though, I mean it pulls hard off the line. With the lsa and m6 the torque is right there out of the gate. Only thing I don't wanna do is hinder acceleration any more than I need to. I feel like a larger tire plus swapping to 3.73's will feel like a loss in power. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Radial and a 6 speed? If it works for you great.
I have had better traction with bias tires. Running Hoosier QTP 8 x 26 now since I'm running a 3.50 gear. 60' in the 1.6-1.8 range, generally 1.7's. The short tire is good if you don't blow it out and recovers pretty well. However, I believe a 28" tall tire would recover better and is what I am planning to go with next time. Probably a Hoosier 10.5 x 28 stiff wall slick C11 or D07 (hard compound). Especially, if I also swap to a 3.90 gear. Only running 1/8 mile so far but am topping 3rd gear at the traps (~104 MPH).
One of the reasons you may be experiencing slow 60' is if you aren't spinning any off the line. Some wheel speed without knocking off the tires should launch better. A taller tire should recover better.
Taller tire = more traction & better recovery. Also depends on your shift RPM to work out the gear/tire height combo. I shift at 6k. Mount the tallest tire you can that works out for your gearing combo.
