Carbed 350 with 700r4 high highway rpms

Hi Gentlemen, I have been wondering for a while if there is a way to lower the rpms while at highway speeds of 60mph+. My setup is a carbed 350 with a 2 barrel Rochester and a 700r4. She shifts good but I remember before i got rid of the TBI (I know y’all are gonna give me flak for that) I remember at the same highways speeds of 60mph+, the rpms would be below 2000 and now the rpms are between 2000 and 2500. I’m just curious if it’s possible to lower it with maybe TV Cable adjustments or something.

Before you modded the car did you remember to make provisions to allow the tq converter to lock up without the computer?

no sir I didn’t, cause I’ve ever done this before. Cause the tq locks up still. Isn’t that “fourth gear” on the transmissions? Because back when I first did this conversion to carburetor, it never would switch to Overdrive or “4th gear” until I extended the tv cable some.

No. Fourth gear is fourth gear. Torque converter lock up is a completely separate entity

Part of the consequences of removing the TBI (mistake, BTW), is that you no longer have the computer to handle TCC lockup. You need a kit for this such as:
