Better pan Gasket????
Hello all
I am wondering if anyone out there makes a better gasket for the 700R4's pan. I have tried just about every manufacturer out there and the pan stays dry for about three days. Then you can see the fluid over the pan and the chassis. It's not a bad leak (no puddles after I park) but I would like to get that area dry so I could reapply some undercoating.
thanks

Go to Napa auto parts and get part no. 1-7936 filter kit. It comes with a nice rubber gasket. I never have problems with it leaking. The cheap cork gaskets that come with most filters are junk.

Use a rubber gasket, clean both surfaces really well. Emery cloth works well to get a semi-rough surface--you don't want it too smooth. Make sure the pan is straight, hammer as needed to flatten. If it's too bent, get another pan. And then, DON'T overtorque the bolts--it will bend the pan and cause leaks. If you prep it right, it won't leak at all.
