need some help with weird noise from T-56
wel when the car is in neutral idling it sounds like I have rocks on my oil pan but in fact when the clutch is pressed down the noise goes away. and returns when the clutch is released. I think it might be the input shaft bearing. Anyone got any ideas? thanks for thehelp

Just like mystikkal-69, I also got the same type noise in my '95 T/A. Even put a SLP clutch package (I smoked the stock one) in too and the same noise is still there. I read somewhere (this board and/or another f-body board) a long while back that GM knows about this noise and I think they tried a few things out (I do not recall what it was, sorry). In the end, do not quote me on this, I believed they claimed that this was normal for this type of transmission. If you feel like it , you can search the subject if you want a clearer answer. A lot of 4th GEN LT1 owners have the same noise and maybe even the LS1 owners too.
