Hi
I have a 1990 RS that makes a bit of noise from the rear end. I had a wheel bearing done and that is not the problem. Does any one have an idea what the noise might be.
Thanks Steve

Why did you have the wheel bearing done, did you do the bearing because you were told it was the cause of your whining? Bearings usually do something other than whine, gears whine. It is not unusual for them to do that when there is not any significant problems, except for the noise. Your car was built in 1990, and I wonder if you have ever had gear work done on it, is that the stock gear or have you replaced it with a shorter set? If it's the stock set, and at 28y old it's whining, but not problematic otherwise, you will spend a whole bunch of money chasing it, and may never get rid of it. They get a "set" and just mesh that way.

Basically what 427seven said. My first thought would be pinion bearing? the front is smallest and usually gets most wear. I tore down 7.5 in a Bravada years ago, I didn't see any issues that I would recommend any repairs I told owner I'd live with it because all his bearings were good.
