Hi all, about to mod the 700r4 in my 83 TA and ive got the Corvette Servo and a Transgo shift kit to go in. Has anybody done these mods and how much of a difference did they make?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, I can be of help here. Which TransGo Shift kit did you get? The "Senior"? Junior? Or the 700-2-3? You will need larger boost valves here. The .500" or .471" main boost valve, and a .296" intermediate/reverse boost valve. There are many other things that can be done to the Shift kit to get the Heavy Duty or Performance shifts you want, with having smooth part throttle shifts and quick/firmer WOT shifts. The transmission has to be in good working condition for it to work correctly. Is the transmission apart or still in the vehicle? If it is apart there is many things that can be done to vastly improve it without spending a lot of money.

Hi, thanks for the response. My trns was rebuilt by previous owner about 20,000 miles ago and certanly feels in giod condition. This is the kit i have

Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/260118927402 Transmission is still in the car so was going to just do the simple mods like the drilling of the holes an such but as you know whats what i'll bow to you experience with what recommedations you have.

Thanks again.

You need to add the TransGo Senior Shift kit to go along with the 700-2-3 that you have here. This way you will get the best of both worlds, smooth part throttle shift and firmer WOT shifts. It will also fix the shift timing problems which were a problem with a lot of the 1982 - early 1987 units. I carry the Senior Shift kit with the modified Shift kit instructions. I would add the .500" or .471" main boost valve, and a .296" intermediate/reverse boost valve, the pre-drilled separator plate, Torlon checkballs, 1993 pressure regulator valve, Viton Corvette and 4th apply seals, and the modified 2nd accumulator piston with the hardened pin for extremely long wear.
