92 305 TPI auto. I did the mod in the sticky thread, followed the instructions exactly:

Put it back together, went for a drive and it made NO difference. Still hits my custom rev limiter at 5500 RPM in third and won't shift to 4th with my foot on the floor. The TV plunger sleeve has several holes in it and I'm 100% sure I plugged the same two as shown in that thread. Verified the TV pluger moves freely and does not catch on the screws I used as plugs, and grinded them flush on the outside of the sleeve.

Am I missing something? I HATE that it won't shift into 4th, only thing I can't stand about this car right now.

 

Once in a great while, this happens even with this modification. I do not know why this happens. To solve this we had to go with another valve body and or another governor.

 

Sonnax makes a valve for the 700R4 that allows WOT 3-4 shifts. Its about $60, i would buy that over attempting to make my own 3-4 valve

 

Damn and blast! I was hoping for a response from Pro Built Automatics but that is not what I want to hear.... Also I did try that Sonnax valve first and that didn't work either, but that valve is different than the modded stock one, that's why I then tried the mod.
