shift light doesn' work

I have a '87 Camaro with a 5 speed tranny.It has a light on the dash for best shift points.I would like to get this working. It is not the bulb.Any Ideas or a wiring diagram would be greatly appreciated.

Does your ECM have an aftermarket EPROM chip? Some of the high performance chips have the shift light dissabled.

If you don't have one of these, then I would trace the wires leading to the shift light to see if they are broken.

the computer gets info for shifting from the VSS and if that was messed your speedo wouldn't work. take the gauge cluster out and check the connectors and wires. follow the wires on the back of the gaug cluster to the connector to see witch wire behind the dash leds to that light.
