After cleaning my rear axle to within an inch of being brand new there is no ID number on it. Its supposed to be located on the right axle tube but it aint there. My car is a 1986 Camaro, 305tpi, 700r4auto, IROC. The rear axle is fitted with drum brakes and the vin number is; 1G1FP87F5GN141442. Can anybody tell me, or hazard an educated guess what the rear axle code is.
Desperate as I need to order parts.

The axle code has no relationship to you ordering parts, So long
as you know if its a 10 or 9 bolt and the gear ratio all given in the RPO codes.
