Transtar stuff

Well this is the last time I will buy Transtar rebuild kits. The frictions are ok, but the rubber piston seals I don’t trust. For example I noticed the piston seals for the low reverse piston have a little “alligatoring” appearance. I don’t know if they will be all right and I’m sick of buying little seals here and there and finding out when I get them that they are ****.

Re: Transtar stuff

The low/reverse seals have been that way for 20+ years now. When you install them, make sure that you use scotch brite on where the seals ride. The seal on the bottom of the case where metal can sometimes really roughen the surface, should be looked at closely.
