I might be buying a V6 auto 2.8 car to use as a parts car... the inspection on the vehicle was up in 97 (or was it 99???)if that gives you any idea how long it's been sitting...
Provided the trans fluid is still acceptable, will time have taken any affect on the trans from sitting? I know the car has been started every now and then (once in a blue mood) but the lady says it -does- run... I know that will spin the pump and get fluid moving...
So what do you think, will time have taken it's toll, will this tranny's lifespan be shortend?

Im going to be in the same boat as you in a couple of weeks (again) My tranny that sat for a few years dident have any problems at all as far as leaks internal or external but it blew up anyway. The way I see it tranny fluid sticks to parts so they stay wet. If you ever tryed to take tranny fluid out of a driveway its much harder than oil so I think the same would apply to internal parts. Just put the tranny in, add some K&W tranny conditioner drive it for a few miles then change the fluid, thats what im going to do this time.
