Rear end question
Rear end question
I just bought a posi traction disk brake rear end and the guy who sold it to me wasn't quite sure if it was from an 87 iroc or 91. Is there some way I can tell by looking at the rear end or from a code located on the rear end what year it is from? It's complete from hub to hub. Thanks!
HEY I THINK I CAN HELP.EVERY YEAR FROM 82-92 HAS DIFRENT AXL CODES BUT 88 AND 89 91 AND 92 USE THE SAME.THE AXL CODE IS ON THE FRONT OF THE RIGHT SIDE AXL HOUSING.IT WILL READ "G H3 0 103 2 USING MINE FOR INSTANCE"THE FIRST THREE #'S OR LETTERS IS THE AXL CODE.G H3 = BORG WARNER 2.77 9 BOLT POSI.NEXT LETTER IS MANUFACTURER.LAST 4 ARE DATE AND SHIFT.FIND YOUR AXL CODE POST IT AND I'LL TELL YOU WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW.
Ok, sorry it has taken so klong to get back to ya. It was very hard to read the code on the axle housing, but this is the best me and my buddy could come up with. Hopefully they might make a little sense to you:
