Performance Manual Transmission Option Poll
I've been working through an idea for a unique performance manual transmission option that might be valuable to the 3rd gen community, so I'm looking to get some feedback from the community on what currently available performance manual transmission option offers the most value to 3rd gen owners. For this discussion, a "performance manual transmission" is a transmission that would reliably perform behind a 450-800 ft-lb engine in a street/strip or track car.
Once I understand which option appears to offer the most valuable to this community, I'd like to also get feedback on how a new option might compete with it.

Re: Performance Manual Transmission Option Poll
Not a lot of action on your poll, might think about mentioning what engine you'll have infront of it, and the build. I/e 450-850ft/lbs is a lot of spread, 850 ft/lbs from a SBC is doable, but such a radical engine, 850 ft/lbs from BBC is is a lot more tame, but as you get into that range, you should be thinking Richmond, etc.
Good luck!

Beefed T56 or Tremec magnum T56. Final answer. The T5 isn't worth it and often times a new Magnum is cheaper, and stronger, than a beefed T56. The extra gear allows you to run a more aggressive rear end ratio yet keep rpm's at bay when cruising.

T56 F-Body Transmission with an SSR 32-Spline main-shaft and corresponding components...
as well as a few upgrades from a CTS-V (shift forks and pads, syncro assemblies with triple and double carbon rings).
Tail-housing will have to be bored for a larger bushing and seal...
Best of all the T56 parts in one unit for an F-Body.
Note: a bunch of these old F-body units will need a new 2nd-gear.
