I recently bought a 700r4 kickdown bracket for my Holley Carb and now if I want to get to WOT the TV cable pops out of the slide because it is too short. I am wondering if there is any more hardware I need to get in order to reach the correct geometry. Here is a picture if you spot anything that I need to adjust or am missing please let me know. Help is much appreciated.
I used to mess with stock cables- went with Bow tie OD cable and latest spring, set to their psi- absolutely no issues. They will make a custom length cable too.
The Bow Tie Overdrive bracket and cable mounts are the absolute best around. I have been using mine for years, and I had the good fortune to be stationed close enough to have them build the transmission, install and tune the whole set up at their shop in SoCal. The shift quality, durability, and progressive shifting pressure are unrivaled. Highly recommended.
Maybe it's just me, but the bracket at the rear of the carb looks like it's set way to far back ; I don't think I've ever seen a TRV cable extended out that far.
For what it's worth,...... if your car was converted to a carb, you might need to get an actual factory V8 carb cable. All throttle cables were made specific for the engine used in the car.
running into this exact issue with a holley and the exact same cable bracket and geometry corrector. The cable I got was the 37.25" but it is doing exactly as pictured above. did you ever find the correct cable?
