10-bolt Questions

Three teeth have been shredded off my ring gear in my 9-bolt BW rear. I have decided that I am going to build up a 10-bolt. I decided to do this because you can make 10 bolt’s stronger then a 9-bolt if you replace all the parts with aftermarket ones. My question is I have the newer disk breaks will they bolt onto an older 10-bolt disk housing that had the old style disk brakes? I am having trouble finding 10-bolt housings with disk break brackets.

You just need to get the disk brake brackets from GM for the 10 bolt with the newer PBR rear brakes. They are around $25 a piece.Do a search on the board for 1LE or something along those lines and all the info and part numbers you need are here.Easy swap!

I have both the 9 and 10 bolt posi rears. I race so I went to a Moser 12 bolt. The 9 bolt is sound but the slicks would catch in uneven water It has 327 gears. The 10 bolt has 342 richmond gears, auburn pro posi, new drum brakes. 300 miles when I put my 84 red I-ROC Z28 in the ditch. Bending the frame. It has the 10 bolt rear, true duals for rear exit headers, decent red interior, all good body except for LS fender. If anybody is interested call 256-232-7775
