Getting my dads 3rd gen back on the road and discovered it has no 3rd on the stock automatic that came with the vehicle from factory. Looking to possibly replace but don’t want to replace drive shaft as well, looking for tried solutions from y’all and maybe in the lower price tag side. Thank you for any input

I would just rebuild it. If it is also missing 4th, it is likely the 3/4 clutch pack went out. This is common as it is a weak link in the 700R4.
