Wierd 700R4 problem...

Alrighty, Ive got a 88 T/A 305 TPI with a 700R4... Now, to the symptoms.

Out of no where last weekend the car started acting up, it would shift around 4000-4500 from first to 2nd, about the same from 2nd to 3rd, and it wouldnt shift into OD until about 60MPH. Obviously something wasnt right there! It also would shudder when I was slowing down in 1st gear to a stop. So, I adjusted the TV cable and that seems to have helped the shift points quite a bit. I think I should still try to adjust it a little better. But, I was near the 15k mark on the car so I figured right now would be a great time to change the fluid/filter.

I pulled the pan, and wow, it did need to be changed. There were no chunks of metal, but there were traces. So, I installed the new filter and fluid and took it for a test drive. It was well warmed up, and i took off at light throttle up to about 65, it shifted great. So, I was cruising and gave it enough to kick it down into 3rd, felt good. I pulled off a side road and slowed down just to check everything out, and it is doing the shuddering again.

The trans has about 107k on it right now, it hasnt really been abused, no neutral drops or anything. Not that I dont get into it a little every once in awhile.

Sorry for making it so long, but I had to make it detailed so you guys know whats goin on! Any ideas?

Oh, also, I noticed when I had inspection cover off the TC that it is Chevy Orange, is that stock?

Mines got 107k miles also on it. How did you fix the TV cable, there seems to be different ways, how did you do it?? My tranny seems to be going well, no shuddering, I'm never going to do a neutral drop, I usually use the brake instead, but hardly at that.

Sounds like the common sticking Throttle Valve problem. The TransGo Shift Kit or Reprogramming Kit just flat fixes it.
