97 trans am (v6) rear diff worth swapping...?

Car: 88 camaro iroc
Engine: 5.0 TPI
Transmission: 5 spd mannual T5
Axle/Gears: 3.27/ 9 Bolt
97 trans am (v6) rear diff worth swapping...?
I came across a 97 trans am (v6)(133,xxx) miles. With RPO codes Y87/GU6/G80 my currenct BW 9 bolt is making a "thumping" sound is 1st and 2nd gear although the car can still peel out with both tires (t5 transmission). Is this differential worth swapping for my 9 bolt?
