Reverse Stalling, 700-R4

Just a quick question, my car has a tendency to stall when shifted into reverse when cold. I assume this is a somewhat common occurance under certain situations and would like to hear any possibilities anyone knows. I replaced a valve in my brake booster thinking that might solve the problem but it doesn't. The only other thing was that the carberater that is one the car now after removal of all smog equipment and install of a 350, well the hot idle screws' spring is compressed too much to keep the spring set. I stretched it once but that didn't seem to help for long. Any questions will be addressed to the best of my abilities, and any comments/suggestions are more than welcome. Take care now folks...
