Parts needed for T56 swap? A couple questions...

I'm trying to make sure I've got everything for my T56 swap in my 1992 Z28. I've searched for a while and am still a bit fuzzy on what else I might need.

I have a 97 TransAm donor car to start. I'm waffling a bit on few items such as pedals, hydraulics, clutch selection, torque arm and crossmember.

I've read numerous threads about the fitment of the 4thgen pedal assembly and reviews seem mixed as compared to the 3rdgen pedals. Should I reuse the donor car pedals or bite the bullet and get the repro Hawks 3rdgen pedals? How about hydraulics? 4thgen master or 3rdgen?

Is there a general consensus on the best clutch? I'm partial to something like Clutch Masters, Spec, ACT, etc but I'm curious what others have used. It's going behind a nearly stock 1992 L98 so it doesn't have to be a wild clutch but I'd rather get one that will hold up as power mods are added. I'm assuming I just need a 93-97 LT1 T56 clutch? I'm planning on resurfacing the donor flywheel and using it with new ARP hardware.

Next, I know Ill need a crossmember made for the T56. I've been leaning towards the simple UMI one but I noticed it says something about needing a custom torque arm. I had been under the impression that the T56 torque arm bolted up like the standard 3rdgen T5 style did, just bolting onto the tailshaft housing. Is that the case on the T56 or so I need something more specialized?

Just trying to make sure I have what I need before I tear into the car and before i scrap the donor T/A.

Thanks!

Go all 4th gen on pedals and master. There's a time and place to adjust bore sizes and pedal stud throw distance; your build is not one of them. The 5th pedal hanger bolt IIRC is the only fitment difference. Not a big deal. You could weld to it to work.

With a bolt-ons L98, and proper driving, stock level can be just fine. Of course, with clutches, getting any flywheel and pressure plate machined flat before breaking in the new disc matters. New flywheels and PP are mass produced and sometimes end up with convex or concave surface.

I haven't searched out parts in years. The one that used to be odd to find was the PP bolts. If it looks like yours are good, red loctite and run them. They take a unique, low torque much lower than 1992 PP bolt spec, and there is no gain to be had by going ARP. ARP makes nearly everything in 6-point and flywheel bolts are a good place to run their product.

The W / M lips torque-arm change happened during the third gen years? 97 should match 92. I am still a fan of getting the TA off the tail and onto the CM.

I did this swap a few years back using the sticky thread at the top of the drivetrain section and the T56 links in the how too section.
I used the 4th Gen pedal setup with the gas pedal cutoff, a 4th Gen clutch master and slave setup and flywheel along with a stock replacement Valero clutch.
You can retain your stock torque arm mounted to the T56 and your stock driveshaft. As for crossmembers there are a number to chose from kinda depends on what you will be doing for exhaust routing.
