82 Z28 automatic shifter

Hi guys I know it’s been asked a million times but what is everyone using for a automatic shifter for a turbo 350 , I’m building this car for a customer and he would like a good shifter , I have the b&m mega shifter in my 87 and he’s not a lover of it lol, has anyone used a quarter stick or some other brand that looks good , I know there will be mods made to the console in order to install , would like to try and make it a very clean install , any suggestions would be great as well as any pics you may have , thanks guys

Why not just use a stock shifter? Is it a race car?...

Re: 82 Z28 automatic shifter

It’s not a race car but it does have a 383 with fuel injection, the turbo 350 also has a 3500 stall converter and 373 rear gears , it’s very fun to drive and the customer likes to bang through the gears every once and a while and with the stock shifter he almost knocked it into neutral once , so this is why I’m looking for a shifter

His white 82 z , it has 39000 km,s , his deceased dad bought it new in April 82 , it’s never been our doors over night or seen rain , and my red 87 which is a clone but I’ve owned the car 32 years , I did a full rotisserie restoration on it over 6 years

Re: 82 Z28 automatic shifter

I loved my Mr Gasket which turned into Hurst V Matic in my Nova. Had both the normal and ratchet operation. Kind of the dated look.

I now have the B&M Magum Grip. Like the looks, but need to use it properly or it can still be shifted wrong.
